Fit for School
Fit for School Inc. is a Philippine non-governmental organization that works closely with the health and education sectors, various development agencies and private partners on effective school health programmes. It offers information, technical assistance and a high-level network to support the institutionalization of school health programmes.
FRESH Focusing Resources on Effective School Health
The purpose of this site is to encourage those who plan school-based health programmes to use the FRESH approach which contains four elements: health-related school policies; provision of safe water and sanitation; skills based health education; and school based health and nutrition services. It also provides a set of practical tools for achieving the best results: the UNESCO FRESH Toolkit.
Global Handwashing Day
Global Handwashing Day (15 October) was created by the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing in 2008. This day was originally created for children and schools, but can be celebrated by anyone promoting handwashing with soap. Each year, over 200 million people are involved in celebrations in over 100 countries around the world.

Hygiene Central - school sanitation and hygiene
The Hygiene Centre is a research group at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine devoted to developing a better understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices which can be used to inform public health policy. Their school sanitation project page tells about the Formative research format for schools: a simple step-by-step tool that can be used to understand, document and feed back motivations of school actors (pupils, teachers and head teachers) into a communication programme to schools.
Hygiene education website by the Institut Pasteur
Site by Institut Pasteur (Paris, France) has been designed and produced with the help of teachers. Its aim is promoting good hygiene and it is meant as an educational guide for teachers, including scientific information and themed activity sheets. Pupils find games and fun activities, and a revision of information covered in the teaching section. The site includes a short survey to determine the hygiene levels of a school.

Schools & Health
Joint Web site by World Bank, WHO, UNICEF, UNESCO, USAID, PAHO, WFP, Child to Child, Save the Children and Partnership for Child Development (PCD) on effective school health strategies, promotion and strengthening of communication, and cross-sectoral partnerships. It provides school-based health and nutrition information at the country level; information on country programmes; and maps showing the distribution and prevalence of worm infections. It is managed by the PCD, an international collaboration based in London (UK).
